Heading into July we were all looking forward to the 4th Annual BC Outdoors Magazine’s Fishing Derby at Shearwater Resort which ran from July 18 – 22, 2012 with magazine editor Mike Mitchell and special guest Rod Pelley from the New Jersey Devils NHL Hockey Club.

Our 5-day trip started out with the guys fishing close to home at Raymond and Idol point. They had a good warm up with plenty of good Coho hitting, reminding them why they love this sport.

Well the weather has hit us pretty hard the last week or so and we hope it will let up soon. The fishing on the other hand has been pretty steady with a few big fish

Our guests throughout the trip had mostly overcast skies and showers, but they all enjoyed calm seas to fish in.

We have been rolling along up at Shearwater just putting the finishing touches to our new ocean front resort for our all inclusive fishing trip guests and boy has the fishing been spectacular.
