Barge Services
Shearwater Marine Group has operated tugs and barges and have
been involved in the marine and general contracting business on the BC Central Coast since 1947.
The tug and barge services currently offered include the movement of logging equipment, general freight, gravel, bulk fuel and propane. In addition, the company provides water taxi services and is involved in marine contracting, salvage, demolition, pile driving, the building and repair of wharfs and floats, and general on-shore construction projects.

Equipment based at Shearwater includes a 120’ self powered
barge,150’ ramp barge, 400 hp tug, 3 water taxis (12-42 passenger), one 30 tonne crawler crane, redi-mix truck, 235 Cat Excavator, D-8 Cat bulldozer, front end loader, forklifts and an array of construction and marine response equipment. Shearwater Marine is the go-to marine services corporation on the Central Coast and we are very proud of our experienced staff and the company’s reputation for safety and dependability.
